Clap With Me
In 2016, the Brooklyn-based, Jazz-fusion band Mostacho Xprmnt released their single Clap With Me. They asked me to be part of the project by creating the art work for their record. Their sound comes from a heavy influence of Funk/RnB and a slight influence of everything else, and different creative perspectives, such as its members nationalities.
I used the value of this variety within the group to be the main concept and as part of the visual art for the single cover.

Mostacho Xprmnt was founded by Costa Rican drumer and composer Andrés Marín and completed by American Dave Lowenthal on bass and Venezuelan Luis D'Elias on guitar
Andrés and I met one afternoon in Barcelona. We talked about what it would be the project like, the band, their music style and of course, the single.
Every project brings its challenges and this one had one in particular: The song wasn’t mastered… yet! So, during this process I had to listen to some previous mockups of their single Clap With Me, time after time. Even if it sounds boring, it wasn’t. I love music and Mostacho Xprmnt is a very interesting musical project, an open-minded band and talented people who let me visualise what I was not only listening to but also feeling at the moment.
Inside this project there’s a mix of drawing by hand and a fair amount of digital work in retouching and color addition to create a cool contrast that unites but distinguishes both analog and digital aspects of the final art.
These visual variations, technical contrasts and textures are part of the creative concept and also represents what the band essence is for me.
